Abstract

If a pharmaceutical product has not sold within its expiration date, it becomes an expired product (loss), and if it suffers any damage (wastage), it loses its value to be disposed of, generating an economic and tax loss. Considering those problems, inventory management in the devaluation of pharmaceutical products could have a potential effect on reducing losses. The focus of this research is quantitative with causal correlational scope; participants have chosen through a non-probabilistic convenience sampling which has made up of the manager, the pharmacist, and the accountant of 13 drug stores. From the results, it has concluded that the inventory management process has effects on the management of stocks, allowing the identification of expired, abused, or broken pharmaceutical products (devaluation). In this sense, inventory rotation plays an indispensable role in the inventory management process.
