DOI® System Examples

The following links are examples of some of the ways in which Registration Agencies and their customers are using DOI® names. Note that the use of DOI names as persistent identifiers is guaranteed by the active management of the DOI record (and so not necessarily seen by the user); the use of DOI names as interoperable identifiers is facilitated by the provision of structured DOI metadata (which may be seen by the user or may be machine-to-machine).
