[Discuss-DOI] Announcing changes to DOI information lists

Dear subscriber,

This Discuss-DOI mailing list was set up several years ago to offer a means
of communicating ideas and comments at the launch and subsequent development

of the Digital Object Identifier. The evolution of the DOI system now means
that this list is now little used, as it has been supplanted by other means
of communication (see below), and so we are closing the list to further
contributions. The archive of earlier messages to the DOI News list will be
retained at http://www.doi.org/mail-archive/discuss-doi/maillist.html but no

new messages will be accepted. Our thanks to everyone who has contributed to

the list over the years.

Information from the DOI community is now widely distributed through monthly

bulletins on the free DOI-News mailing list (news@doi.org). Subscribers to
news@doi.org receive brief summary announcements from the International DOI
Foundation of press releases, reports on activities of the Foundation and
its Registration Agencies, and developments that are of interest to the DOI
community. This is a broadcast list, and subscribers do not post to the
list. If you are not already subscribed to this list and wish to receive the

announcements, please send a request to contact@doi.org, including
"Subscribe Me To DOI News" in the subject line.

Suggestions and comments to the DOI community can still be sent to the
general
e-mail address contact@doi.org or to individuals in either the IDF or the
DOI Registration Agencies. Within the DOI membership there are now active
lists for both the registration agency and technical community available to
IDF members.

Finally, we invite you to visit the recently redesigned DOI website at
http://www.doi.org where you will find extensive resources and materials on
DOI.
