[Ref-Links] Linking Etiquette
I am in the process of writing up "Etiquette for Reference Linking" which
will be part of the usage agreement required for access to S-Link-S.
I would appreciate feedback from this community about practices that you
feel would be abusive uses of reference linking information.
Some examples I've thought of:
1. Framing without permission. (putting another site's content in your frame.)
2. Morphing content. Extracting information from a web page and
transforming it to evade copyrights.
3. Whacking a site. (Recursively downloading all linked files.)
4. Trolling a site. (trying to download article01.htm, article02.htm,
article02.htm,....articlexx.htm
5. Indexing a site contrary to posted robot exclusions.
Eric
PS. I've started adding "-"s to the S-Link-S name to avoid some domain name
collisions.
