The IDF Board of Directors established the RAWG as a forum for discussion of technical and policy issues of concern to Registration Agencies (RAs). The RAWG is responsible to the Board, which retains the ultimate responsibility
for policy decisions.
Each approved RA will have one voting representative. No non-RAs will be on the RAWG. The RAWG may wish to invite anyone else to attend meetings or participate, but they won't be formal members.
The RAWG will elect a Chair who will also be on the board of directors. The RAWG Chair will report to the board and will represent RAs not on the board.
The RAWG is the forum for development of the rules governing Registration Agencies, including the ongoing evolution of formal Terms and Conditions as specified in the Letter of Intent which all RAs sign. The RAWG is the primary focus for discussions on the development and implementation of the DOI® system infrastructure (Application Profiles, DOI system API, DOI system metadata policy). The goal of the RAWG will be to develop consensus opinions and make recommendations to the IDF board of directors and staff on technical and policy priorities and to be directly involved in IDF governance.
