CIS is a landmark project which needs to achieve a critical mass in order to deliver the benefits which are within its potential to provide. Getting to a critical mass will take several years of hard work by, and co-operation between, societies, publishers and writers. It must continue to evolve into a mature and integrated architecture for copyright management on behalf this community of interest it’s been established to serve, to support an environment for secure, copyright protected, electronic commerce.
