Pathogenomics insights for understanding Pasteurella multocida adaptation
2020, International Journal of Medical MicrobiologyCitation Excerpt :Plasmids have also been detected in the majority of porcine P. multocida strains examined (Schwarz and Chaslus-Dancla, 2001). The complete nucleotide sequence of a plasmid carrying resistance genes would be descriptive, based on streptomycin and sulfonamide resistance genes (Table 2) (Wright et al., 1997). The pCCK1900 plasmid present florfenicol resistance genes (Kehrenberg et al., 2008), whereas isolates presenting multi-resistance carried on several plasmids were reported in relation to ampicillin, penicillin, streptomycin, sulfonamide and tetracycline resistance genes (Table 2) (Ferreira et al., 2012; Oh et al., 2018).
