Abstract
We study network invariants, abstractions of systems consisting of arbitrary many identical components. In particular, we study a case when an instance of some fixed size serves as an invariant. We study the decidability of the existence of such an invariant, present a procedure that will find it, if one exists, and finally give conditions under which such an invariant does not exist. These conditions can be checked in finite time, and if satisfied, they can be used in further searches for an invariant.
