Abstract
In this paper a mathematical model of on-line measurement of rotational error motion of machine tool spindle is developed. It is a new method in which the use of an attached sphere is not adopted. For the realization of the proposed model an experiment has been designed and testing devices developed accordingly. From the experiment on a CA6140 lathe it has been proved that the method not only enables us to measure the value of the rotational error motion of the spindle, but also provides the basis for spectral analysis and for searching the sources that effect the error motion of the machine tool spindle.
