Grundlagen der Neuro-Psychopharmakologie

Zusammenfassung

Ein erheblicher Anteil der gesamten modernen Medizin ist heute bereits mit der Versorgung alter Menschen beschäftigt. Durch die Veränderungen der Altersstruktur in den kommenden Jahrzehnten ist damit zu rechnen, dass diese Aufgabe besonders im Bereich der Nervenheilkunde zunehmend anwachsen wird. Ältere Patien ten sind dabei nicht notwendigerweise besser compliant als Jüngere, sondern zählen wegen einer of mals skeptischen oder etwas eigensinnigen Grundhaltung gegenüber modernen Interventionen, wegen ihrer Unkenntnis, oder einer beeinträchtigten Fähigkeit, notwendige Grundregeln der Medikamenteneinnahme zu beherzigen, nicht selten zu dem schwierigeren Klientel. Aufgrund somatischer und psychischer Besonderheiten alter Menschen kann die psychopharmakologische Behandlung daher eine besondere Herausforderung darstellen.
