Abstract

The consensus of most professionals is that autism is a lifelong condition. Also, researchers have found that core symptoms change over time. Thus, screening and diagnosis constitutes a first step, but lifelong monitoring is also in order. This chapter discusses how this process can be accomplished. Where current strengths and current pitfalls exist will also be a point of emphasis.
