About the editors

Camile S. Farah is a dual-qualified specialist in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology who is currently Reader in Oral Biology, Pathology & Medicine at the University of Queensland (UQ) School of Dentistry in Australia and Head of the Oral Oncology Research Program at the UQ Centre for Clinical Research. His other positions include Consultant Oral Pathologist, Qscan Radiology Clinics and Honorary Consultant in Oral Oncology, Head & Neck Cancer Clinic, Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Dr. Farah holds a number of prestigious positions, including as Chairman of the Australian Dental Research Foundation, Research Advisory Committee; President of the International Association for Dental Research, ANZ Division; and Vice President of the Australian Immunohistochemistry Society. He is Chairman-elect of the Australian Dental Research Foundation. He is a Fellow of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists, and the International Academy of Oral Oncology. Dr. Farah is an editorial board member of several journals, including Pathology Discovery, Clinical Medicine Research, and Journal of Cancer Stem Cell Research. He is the author of well over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Ramesh Balasubramaniam is Director of the Perth Oral Medicine & Dental Sleep Centre, St John of God Hospital, Subiaco Clinic, Perth, Western Australia. His other positions include Consultant, Dental Department, Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, Subiaco, Western Australia; Consultant, Orofacial Pain Clinic, Oral Health Centre of Western Australia, Nedlands, Western Australia; and Adjunct Consultant, Department of Pain Management, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Nedlands, Western Australia. He is Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Dentistry, University of Western Australia. Dr. Balasubramaniam is a Registered Specialist in Oral Medicine, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain, and a Fellow of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the Academy of Dentistry International. He is current Chair of the Education and Scientific Sub-Committee of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia and has held various other executive positions in professional organizations. He was a Committee Member for the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Guidelines (2012–3). He is the author of approaching 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and was one of the two guest editors of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America issue on “Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction” (May 2008).

 

 

Michael McCullough is a Professor in the Melbourne Dental School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia. He is an Oral Medicine Consultant at the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital, Dental Health Service, Victoria and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Melbourne Health, Victoria, and has been Director of Research at Melbourne Dental School since 2006. Dr. McCullough is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) and of the College’s Special Stream in Oral Medicine. He has held various prestigious positions in professional organizations, including as President of the Oral Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand and Chair of the Dental Therapeutics Committee, Australian Dental Association. He is a member of the editorial boards for Archives of Oral Biology, Medical Mycology, and Dental Cadmos (the affiliated journal of the European Section of the International College of Dentists). Dr. McCullough has published almost 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
