Abstract
Electrical charged particles formed in the air, either negative or positive, can be created naturally or artificially by using an ion generator. The negative air ions have beneficial effects on humans and animals whilst the positive ones elicit the opposite effects. The paper presents a few selected examples to illustrate the biological effects of small air ions on chicken eggs and on laboratory animals. We used different concentrations of ions, in different periods of development, solely or in association with physical or chemical factors. Our studies confirm the results of other researchers with tradition in the field, that negative air ions have a normalization effect, of return to the normal the hematological parameters or histologically structure of modified organs and may become a valuable adjunct to other forms of therapy.
