Abstract

Points of high boundary curvature can be used as critical points for displacement estimation in interframe matching. The mathematical relations between the two-stage interest operator of DRESCHLER+NAGEL 81, the zero-crossing contours of the “Mexican Hat”-operator of MARR+HILDRETH 80 and the zero-lines of the gaussian curvature are discussed.
