Unsere Ausführungen beruhen auf ersten Ergebnissen eines von der DFG finanzierten Forschungsprojekts zur „Interessenvertretung in nationalen und transnationalen Handlungsräumen: Unternehmensrestrukturierung und das Problem der Interessenartikulation“. Die Typologie soll im Verlauf unseres Forschungsprojektes weiter empirisch gefüllt und entwickelt werden.

So besitzt beispielsweise eine Verlagerungsdrohung in der Regel auch eine symbolisch‐legitimatorische Komponente. EBR und WBR beispielsweise stellen nicht nur Machtmittel zur Verfügung, sondern konstituieren auch eine symbolische Ordnung und die Legitimation grenzüberschreitender Interessenvertretung.
