Relationship Between Magnesium Parameters, Lipid Profile and Peroxidation Levels in Healthy Children

  • Chapter
Magnesium: Current Status and New Developments

Abstract

Several studies have provided evidence that the ingestion of a diet deficient in magnesium may be a factor in the aetiology of cardiovascular disease [1]. A major factor of cardiovascular diseases is atherosclerosis. In the atherosclerosis process may be implicated several factors such as genetic, lipid profile, state of nutrition and hypertension [2].
