Abstract
Cylindrical chimney structures with low structural damping are very susceptible to wind induced oscillations. It is well known that chimneys under wind loading respond dynamically in the across-wind as well as in the along-wind direction. For such structures the dynamic response in the across-wind direction is often greater than along-wind.
