Abstract
Specialized structures of the sperm membranes have been studied by surface replica and freeze-fracture (1–5). Domains of the sperm plasma membrane are also reported (2, 5). We attempted to reveal surface membrane structures of the boar and rabbit spermatozoa by deep-etching and rotary shadowing, and obtained new findings that gathered particles of 15 nm in diameter with subunits appear on the ES face of the postacrosomal region of the boar sperm.
