Abstract
The College was founded in 1952 as an act of faith and confidence in the aftermath of the Second World War by general practitioners who believed that they worked in a special branch of health care with its own skills, expertise, methods and tools. They believed that for general practice to flourish, improve and prosper demanded special education, training and research.
