Abstract
A theoretical and experimental study of interaction between cracks and voids leading to local internal necking is presented. The theoretical analysis of internal necking leading to the progressing ductile fracture has been based upon the slip-line technique. Experiments on specimens of ductile commercial metals with prepared cracks and voids substantiate the analysis.
