Abstract
In this paper, metamaterial element is applied towards antenna for biomedical application. The metamaterial unit cell is constructed using circular split ring resonator (CSRR) technique to be attached at the ground of the antenna. The metamaterial antenna is design to be operated at frequency between 0.5–3.0 GHz which is suitable for biomedical application such as wireless patient movement monitoring, telemetry and telemedicine including micro-medical imaging and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The design and simulation has been carried out using Computer Simulation Technology Microwave Studio (CST MWS) while the fabricated antenna is measured using Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) to analyse the overall performance.
