Zusammenfassung

Die Öffnung Chinas in den letzten vier Jahrzehnten hat drei Wellen durchlaufen: die extensive Öffnungsphase (1978–2001), die intensive Öffnungsphase (2001–2017) und die umfassende Öffnung (seit 2017). In diesem Papier werden diese drei Phasen der Wirtschaftsreform des Landes untersucht. Chinas Gewinne aus dem Handel wurden durch verschiedene wirtschaftliche Faktoren ausgelöst. Vor der Jahrhundertwende war das große Handelsvolumen auf die Realisierung des komparativen Vorteils aufgrund der Faktorausstattung des Landes zurückzuführen. Nach dem Beitritt zur Welthandelsorganisation sind Chinas Handelsgewinne jedoch zum großen Teil auf die Realisierung wirtschaftlicher Skaleneffekte in Verbindung mit dem größeren Markt zurückzuführen.
