Resistance of a partially wet canopy: Whose equation fails?

Abstract

Shuttleworth's analysis of evaporation from partly wet canopies is appropriate only for the unrealistic case of dispersed, minute water droplets. When a more realistic model is used, the predicted range of canopy resistances is consistent with experimental estimates for a pine forest.
