Abstract
Experiments were done to develop a flow resistance equation for a rectangular channel with an alluvial bed. The purpose of the experiments was to produce a data set containing statistical bedform measurements from which an effective channel bed roughness could be derived. A tentative flow resistance equation containing a relative roughness term, a channel shape or aspect ratio term, and a Froude number term was produced.
