Abstract

Accurate data allow one to draw a precise pressure — P CO/P SiO ratio — temperature (PRT) diagram taking into account the mass balance of the independent components in the Si-C-O system. The existence of a congruent point for the mixture 2SiO2+1SiC is shown, when the total pressure is lower than 36 700 Pa. From the PRT diagram it is possible to construct the phase diagrams at all temperatures and pressures.
