Abstract
We propose a tapered electrode structure to make the ratio of the coupling coefficient to the difference of propagation constants between two coupled waveguides in a directional coupler switch a constant throughout it. In this way, the crosstalk caused by the existence of tapered sections is entirely eliminated.
