Summary

Acetone and butanol are produced by continuous culture of Clostridum acetobutylicum on an optimized synthetic medium containing 45 g/l glucose. Overall results in terms of conversion yields, solvent productivity and residual glucose concentration are similar or superior to previously reported results with continuous fermentation.
