Summary
Chlorphentermine which is known to interfere with lipid metabolism in vivo shows strong interaction with phosphatidylcholine in NMR-binding studies. This complexation is supposed to alter the phospholipid metabolism thus giving rise to intracellular accumulation of lipids. No significant interaction was observed for phentermine.
