Abstract
Knowing the mean value of the electronic kinetic energy T(X i ) of a molecule as a function of the nuclear coordinates X i , it is shown that the electronic energy can be uniquely determined by the virial theorem \(\sum\limits_i {X_i } \frac{{\partial E}}{{\partial X_i }} + E = - T\). The result is \(E = - \int\limits_0 {dp{\text{ }}} T(pX_i )\).
