Abstract

Cadmium, lead and copper complexes with propylenediamine have been studied polarographically in sodium perchlorate medium at μ=0.1 and 30°C. Cadmium and copper form 1∶1, 1∶2 and 1∶3 complex species in solution while lead forms only 1∶1 and 1∶2 species.DeFord andHume's method, as modified byIrving, has been applied for the determination of composition and stability constants of the complex species. The percentage distribution of cadmium, lead and copper present in various forms as a function of the logarithm of ligand concentration was calculated.
