Mean amplitudes of vibration of IF6 +

Abstract

Mean amplitudes of vibration for the octahedral IF6 + ion have been calculated from spectroscopic data using the “Method of the Characteristic Vibrations” ofA. Müller. The results are briefly discussed in relation with those of isoelectronic species and with known data for other compounds containing I-F bonds.
