Kinetics and mechanism of thallation of carboranes

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The pseudo-first-order reaction rate constants for the thallation of substituted carboranes were determined.

  2. 2.

    The thallation rate of methyl-o-carborane is second order in thallium tris(trifluoroacetate) and first order in carborane.
