Conclusions
The feasibility of using gem-dihalomethyl-substituted cyclohexadienones in redox troponization reactions was shown in the case of the reaction of 4-methyl-4-dibromomethyl-2,5-cyclohexadien-1-one with Pd(PPh3)4, leading to the formation of 4-methy1-2,4,6-cycloheptatrien-1-one.
