Summary
In 1960 Taylor discussed the motion of a jet of inviscid fluid issuing from an elongated orifice in a flat sheet, which transforms itself into a jet which is first flattened in the direction of the long axis of the orifice and then subsequently in the perpendicular direction. Such a motion is re-considered here using a system of dynamical equations obtained from a one-dimensional model.
