Summary

An autotetraploidA. alpinum was found in France. In theA. odoratum group only tetraploids were known up to now, but widespreaded diploids have been discovered in Southern Europe. Investigations of karyotypes led to the recognition of six diploid genomes in perennial Anthoxanthums; four were found in diploids, two only in allotetraploids.
