Conclusions
A method has been developed for the preparation of methylthiocyclopropanedicarboxylic acid derivatives based on reactions of azomethines with dimethylcarboethoxymethylidenesulfurane, which is generatedin situ from its sulfonium salt precursor and KOH in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst.
