The practice of medicine is a practical pursuit. Theoreticians who would give aid to the process of patient care must do so through communication to the practicing physician. When their theoretical jargon is uninterpretible by the physician, their efforts are wasted. Intellectual exercises couched in the foreign language of a narrow science are valueless to the average clinician. The objective of all of us is the improvement of patient care. In this pursuit let each of us use simple, generally understood English as our medium of communication. If the message each of us has for the other can not be couched in this manner, the message does not merit space inJournal of Medical Systems.
