Summary
Navigational radar has been used to obtain two dimensional wave spectra during a field experiment in the North Sea. It is shown how the wave spectra change in response to changing wind direction. Near surface currents obtained with the radar are compared with current measurements by CODAR.
Zusammenfassung
Ein nautisches Radargerät ist während eines Feldexperimentes in der Nordsee zur Bestimmung zweidimensionaler Seegangsspektren eingesetzt worden. Es wird der Einfluß drehender Windrichtungen auf diese Seegangsspektren gezeigt. Die aus den Messungen mit nautischem Radar ermittelte oberflächennahe Strömung wird mit CODAR-Strömungsmessungen verglichen.
Résumé
Durant une campagne d'expérimentation dans la Mer du Nord un radar de navigation a été utilisé pour obtenir une représentation en deux dimensions du spectre des vagues. On a montré l'influence des changements de direction du vent sur le spectre représentatif des vagues. Les mesures de courants proches de la surface obtenues par radar sont comparées à celles obtenues par le CODAR.
