Abstract
The isochromatic and isoclinic parameters for fiber-reinforced birefringent materials are examined. Experimental results reveal residual birefringence and an initial isoclinic coincident with the axis of material symmetry. These preliminary data also indicate that the isoclinic angle is neither a measure of the principal strain nor the principal-stress directions within the composite.
