A more efficient waveform for cardiac stimulation

Abstract

This paper describes a waveform which is more efficient than the standard square pulse for use in chronic cardiac pacing. The experimental techniques are discussed and long term results obtained from animals implanted with endocardial catheters are presented.

Ce mémoire décrit une forme d'onde qui est plus efficace que le pouls précis standard utilisé pour le règlement de l'allure cardiaque. Les techniques expérimentales sont discutées et on présente les résultats à long terme obtenus des animaux auquels on a implanté des cathéters endocardiaques.

Zusammenfassung

Dieser Bericht beschreibt eine Wellenform, die wirksamer als der viereckige Normalimpuls als Schrittmacher bei chronischen Herzkrankheiten ist. Die experimentellen Verfahren werden besprochen und es werden seit langer Zeit erhaltene Ergebnisse von Tieren gebracht, denen endokardiale Sonden eingesetzt waren.
