Cytokinetics of argentaffin cells in mouse intestinal mucosa

  • Published:
Virchows Archiv B

Summary

Diazo-positive cells in mouse duodenal mucosa proliferate only in the same zone as epithelial cells (bottom and lower parts of the crypts). Their rate of proliferation as well as their speed of migration into the villi are slower than those of epithelial cells, but to a minor extent only. It is suggested that a special cytokinetic behaviour appears earlier than morphological argentaffin differentiation.
