Summary
In this paper Prager's kinematical hardening model is extended to three dimensional elastic plastic bodies, assuming infinitesimal deformations [2].
We show that this model of elastic plastic materials is a system in the sense of Coleman and Owen [3], and the mechanical workw is an action for it. Futher, assuming thatw has the dissipation property at every state, we study the calss of lower potentials forw, i.e. the class of free energy functions.
