Abstract
1. The morphology of the branchio-cephalic venous system of two Teleostean fishes has been described.
2. InClarias batrachus paired anterior cardinals, formed by the union of external and internal jugulars, pour the venous blood into ducti cuveri. Veins from the arborescent organs also join the anterior cardinals of their respective side.
3. There are two right and left inferior jugulars which join to form a common inferior jugular which opens into the right ductus cuveri.
4. InTor tor, the external and internal jugulars form the paired anterior cardinals on each side which ultimately join with the ducti cuveri.
5. Only a single inferior jugular has been observed which opens into the right ductus cuveri.
