Flavonoid Glycosides From the Bulbs of Lilium speciosum var. gloriosoides and their Potential Antiviral Activity Against RSV

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Bioassay-guided fractionation of the 70% methanolic extract of Lilium speciosum var. gloriosoides Baker resulted in the isolation of a new flavone C-glucoside, speciflavoside A (1), along with four known flavonoids (2–5). The structures of the isolates were assigned on the basis of spectroscopic data analysis, focusing on interpretation of 1D and 2D NMR, and MS data. All the isolates were tested for antiviral activity against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Compound 1 showed potent antiviral activity against RSV with IC50 value of 2.9 μg/mL and SI value of 30.9.
