Abstract

This study focuses on covalent grafting of ZrO to β-CD to prepare an organic–inorganic hybrid material. The synthesised product was successfully linked on the surface of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles and characterized by TGA, XRF, XRD, FT-IR and TEM techniques. Also, magnetism of the organomethalic complex was investigated by the VSM technique. The synthesized magnetic complex was found to be a highly effective heterogeneous catalyst for improving the cyclocondensation reaction of 1,8-diaminonaphthalene with aromatic aldehydes to obtain 2,3-dihydro-1H-perimidine derivatives. Simple isolation of products, easy recovering of the catalyst by external magnet, reusability of the catalyst, high yields of the products, mild reaction conditions, and avoiding toxic solvents are the main benefits of this method.
