Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal Aims and scope

Polymer complexes of the homopolymer of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid containing 18.9 – 35.3 wt% of the antituberculosis antibiotic rifampicin were synthesized. The obtained complexes were shown to be stable in EtOH using liquid chromatography. The cytotoxicity of the polymer complexes was found to be 2.4 – 2.8 times less than that of the starting antibiotic while the high antituberculosis activity of rifampicin was retained.
