Opvang en rol van ouders na een schokkende gebeurtenis

Jaarlijks maken in Nederland talloze kinderen en jongeren een schokkende gebeurtenis mee, zoals een ernstig ongeval, de plotselinge dood van een dierbare of een geweldsmisdrijf. Het Psychotraumacentrum voor Kinderen en Jongeren van het UMC Utrecht richt zich op kinderen en jongeren met een dergelijke ervaring. Onderzoek heeft uitgewezen dat de invloed van ouders op het herstel van kinderen groot is.1
