When the time came to 1970, Pedersen [3] conducted their experiments in which they used water droplets to cool down the heated surface. Nirmalan et al. [4] experimentally investigated the cooling characteristics of mist/air coolant for gas turbine blades cooling channel.

2021, Nuclear Engineering and TechnologyCitation Excerpt :The process of droplet deformation is governed by the impinging velocity normal to the heated wall. The maximum spreading diameter is determined by the conversion from kinetic energy to surface energy [10,22,27–31]. If the energy loss due to droplet deformation on the surface is small, then the expected energy of the initial droplet, i.e., the sum of its kinetic energy and surface energy, is approximately equal to its surface energy at the maximum spreading diameter.
