2020, Journal of EthnopharmacologyCitation Excerpt :Interestingly, the fruits and seeds contain terpenes and triterpenoids, in addition to protein, minerals, and fatty acids found in the seeds of the plant (Wangensteen et al., 2013). Mulholland and Taylor (1992) isolated destigloyl-6-deoxyswietenine acetate, angustidienolide, phragmalin 3,30-diacetate, phragmalin 2,3,30-triacetate, and other minor unidentified compounds from its timber, while the timber seed contains a complex mixture of limonoids. Similarly, Taylor (1983) isolated xyloccensins C, G, H, and I from its timber.

2015, PhytochemistryCitation Excerpt :Fraction FVII (22 g) was further fractionated by silica gel CC (850 g) using hexane–EtOAc (100:0 → 0:100) and EtOAc–MeOH (100:0 → 80:20) to afford 10 secondary fractions (FVII-1–FVII-10). From fraction FVII-5 crystallized 1.2 g of 2-hydroxy-destigloyl-6-deoxyswietenine acetate (1), a crystalline solid, mp 248–250 °C (Mulholland and Taylor, 1992). Fraction FVII-4 (6 g) was fractionated by silica gel (320 g) CC eluting with hexane–EtOAc (100:0 → 0:100) to obtain seven tertiary fractions (FVII-4a–FVII-4g).
