Extraction of 3D field maps of magnetic multipoles from 2D surface measurements with applications to the optics calculations of the large-acceptance superconducting fragment separator BigRIPS
2013, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and AtomsCitation Excerpt :These results demonstrate the validity of our procedure for extracting b2,0. We parameterized the extracted bn,0(z) distribution using the Enge function [21], which has been widely used historically to describe the fringing field, and performed the ion-optical calculation. The code COSY INFINITY[17], which includes the fringing field in the form of the Enge function, was used for our ion-optical calculation.
